New event combines art, music & food

Wassenberg Art Center, along with Main Street Van Wert, Van Wert County Hospital, and the Van Wert County Health Department, are combining food, art, and music in a unique program called 4 Fridays Farm & Art Market. The event begins this Friday, July 29, and runs the next three Fridays: August 5, 12, and 19.

4 Fridays promo artwork 7-2016Fresh fruits and veggies, along with homemade pies, will be available each of the four Fridays, along with recipes and demonstrations, live music and free art exhibits. Gibsons BBQ will also provide food on two of the Fridays, while the High Five Lunch food truck operated by Van Wert native Luke Trinosky will also serve food this Friday.

Music for the programs includes Caribbean jive group Pan Man Dan this Friday; classic rock and blues group JuxtaposÉ; Dan Dickerson & the Harp Condition, a unique twist on harp music; and Real Human Robot: local DJs Rich Humbach and Sara Hope Wells from The Bachwell on August 19, along with dance demonstrations, line dancing and mini-lessons.

On August 12, Ohio State University instructor Stephan Takacs will demonstrate his life-size, walk-in working model of the Brownie Cam, while there will also be a demonstration from Mikila’s Hoops on how performance Hula Hoops are made and used.

Each of the four events will run from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the rear parking lot of Wassenberg Art Center.
