Charles D. Rodman, 81, of Haviland, passed away Monday, August 1, 2016.

He was born July 2, 1935, in Paulding County, the son of Leo and Augusta (Humbarger) Rodman, who both preceded him in death. On December 27, 1955, he married the former Bonnie Tope, who died February 19, 2015.

American Flag for obituaries 6-2011Charles was a U.S. Army veteran, a farmer, and the owner-operator of the former Rodman Enterprises. He was a member of Country Chapel United Methodist Church in rural Van Wert County, Flatrock Masonic Lodge 580, Grange (where he served as master for several year), and Scott Lions Club.

Survivors include three children, Charlene (Jon) Friesner of Van Wert, Shelly (Albert) Bartoch of Salem, Indiana, and Renee (Tim) Hall of Cambridge City, Indiana; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Three brothers, Robert Rodman, James Daulton, and George Jenkins; and a sister, Alice Gordon, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, at Den Herder Funeral Home in Paulding. Burial will follow in Blue Creek Cemetery near Haviland.

Visitation is from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the church, Scott EMS, or Flatrock Masonic Lodge 580.
