Day of Caring t-shirt winner
Morgan Anspach (right), daughter of Aaron and Abbi Anspach and a Lincolnview sixth grader, is the winner of the United Way Day of Caring t-shirt design contest. Her design will be featured on the 800 t-shirts seen throughout the county celebrating the 18th annual Day of Caring. Here, State Farm Insurance agent Tisha Fast, who sponsored this year’s contest, is shown presenting a Walmart gift card to Morgan. The Day of Caring is Friday, September 30, with local businesses and groups working together to collect food items for the Salvation Army pantry — the largest annual food drive for that organization. A blood drive will also be held that day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Trinity Friends Church for the American Red Cross. Barrels will be placed at schools, businesses, and banks around Van Wert County in early September to collect food items. Those interested in helping sponsor the event can call the United Way office at 419.238.6689. (United Way photo)
