Knight boys 4th, girls 7th at area CC meet

UPLAND, Indiana — The Crestview varsity girls’ and boys’ cross country teams raced in the Taylor University Invitational on Saturday morning.  The Knights were the only team from Ohio in the competition.

The girls placed seventh out of 10 teams and were led by Ashley Bowen, who ran a smart and gutty race to place fourth overall. Ragen Harting captured a top 20 spot over the 3.1 mile distance with a 19th place finish.  Other scoring finishers, in order, were Savannah Smith, Brooke Ripley, and Lauren Schumm.

The boys used a 1-5 pack time of just 59 seconds to place fourth out of nine teams. The Knights were one point away from third place and six points away from the runner-up spot.

The Knight boys were paced by Wyatt Richardson (13th place) and Gabe Smith (14th), who both received a t-shirt. They were followed closely by Dylan Sparks (16th), Danil Lichtensteiger (20th) and Jace Vining (27th).
