Deacon Norbert J. Reinhart

Deacon Norbert J. Reinhart, 87, of Van Wert, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, at Van Wert Manor.

He was born January 3, 1929, in Paulding County, the son of James and Marcellus (Schultz) Reinhart, who both preceded him in death. On June 11, 1949, he married Beverly (Ely) Reinhart, who survives in Van Wert.

Other survivors include two sons, James (Judy) Reinhart and Anthony (Karen) Reinhart, both of Van Wert, and their families; and a son-in-law, David Tamsen and family, of Allen Park, Michigan.

A daughter, Mary Anne; one brother (in infancy); and a sister, Rosemary Steinbauer, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 2, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert, with Bishop Daniel Thomas and Father Stanley Szybka officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with graveside military honors rendered by combined units of American Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, both in Van Wert.

Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 1, at the church, where a Rosary service will be held at 8 that evening.

Preferred memorials: Masses in his honor.
