United Way/Purmort Bros. set fundraiser

United Way is partnering with Purmort Brothers Insurance to sponsor its first “Campaign Kick Off” football event at the Van Wert-Lima Shawnee game.

On September 16, Purmort Brothers in Van Wert will be sponsoring the chance for one person to win $100 by making a field goal kick during the third quarter break. Purmort Brothers employees will be selling tickets at the gate for $1 each or six for $5. The winner will be drawn at halftime and attempt the kick prior to the third quarter.

Purmort Brothers is donating all of the ticket sales to United Way of Van Wert County that evening. This year’s campaign goal is $475,000, so this is one opportunity to give to the United Way.

United Way will also be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win two tickets to the Ohio State vs. Indiana University football game on Saturday, October 8. The cost is $5 per ticket or five for $20.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting the office at 419.238.6689 or a United Way board member. United Way will have a tent set up for people to buy tickets that evening as well. The winner will be drawn at the start of the fourth quarter. Ticket purchasers need not be present to win.
