Golden Girls!

Special Olympic competitors (from the left) Michele Lichtle, Jennifer Dotson, and Sharon Mosier  all brought home the gold March 25 from state basketball skills competition held at Bowling Green High School, with 15 local athletes competing. Gold medals also were won by Nicole Recker, Jill Krugh, Scott Bates, and Jason Benner. Silver medals went to Amber Young, Ruth Brock, Megan Detrow, Jackie Worthington, Marsha Lacy, and Jeff Dietsch. Winning a bronze medal was Niki Orskog, while Laura Johnson was awarded a fourth-place ribbon. Coaches Patty Cox, Lisa Cox, Sue Lichtle, and Margaret Miller and all the athletes would like to thank the Van Wert County Foundation and Moose Lodge 1320 in Van Wert, along with other community donors, for their continued support of Van Wert County Special Olympics.
