Gary G. Hartman
Gary G. Hartman, 82, of Van Wert, passed away at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Van Wert Area Inpatient Hospice Center.

He was born August 17, 1934, in Van Wert County, the son of Zack and Faye (Gaskill) Hartman, who both preceded him in death. He married Marilyn S. (Hines) Hartman, who also preceded him in death.
Survivors include three children, Jeff “Boone”
(Tammy) Hartman and Pam (Kevin) Krick, both of Van Wert, and Tami (Jeff) Couts of Van Wert; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Hartman of Convoy; one brother, Jerry Hartman of Van Wert; three sisters, Carol Parsons of Van Wert, Betty Bressler of Ohio City, and Betsy Ridenour of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A son, Terry Hartman; one brother, Zack Hartman; a sister-in-law, Nellie Hartman; two brothers-in-law, Charlie Parsons and Bill Bressler Sr.; and one grandson, Kodi Hartman, also preceded him in death.
Gary retired from the Van Wert Water Department after 30 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of American Legion Post 178 and former Eagles Lodge, both in Van Wert. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, NASCAR, boxing, and joking around.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, where graveside military honors will be rendered by combined units of Legion Post 178 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803, also of Van Wert.
Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the funeral home.
