Lady Lancers come up short vs. Ridgemont

ROCKFORD — Lincolnview won the second and third quarters, but Ridgemont won the first and fourth quarters and the game, during the Chatt Insurance Holiday Tournament at Parkway High School on Thursday.

The Lady Lancers trailed 16-8 after the first quarter, but outscored Ridgemont 20-13 in the second stanza and trailed by just one, 29-28 at halftime. Lincolnview enjoyed a 9-5 scoring advantage and led 37-34 after three quarters, but the Golden Gophers outscored the Lady Lancers 16-4 in the final period.

Lincolnview was 17 of 58 (29 percent) from the floor, and was just 2 of 9 (22 percent) from the free throw line. The Lady Lancers had 32 rebounds, with 17 of those coming on the offensive end.

Alena Looser had a team high 13 points, followed Kayla Schimmoeller’s nine points and eight apiece by Maddie Gorman and Olivia Gorman.

Ridgemont was 17 of 44 (38 percent) from the floor and 13 of 16 (81 percent) from the foul line.

Lincolnview (3-6) will play Grove City Christian at Parkway High School at 3 p.m. today.
