Payne officials seeking part-time EMTs

VW independent/submitted information

PAYNE — The Village of Payne and Benton and Harrison townships announce they will be staffing the Payne EMS with two part-time emergency medical technicians (EMTs) on day shift, with a tentative effective date of March 1. The reason for the additional staffing is the shortage of EMTs on day shift. In 2017, Payne EMS missed 30 percent of its daytime calls for service and it is anticipated that, in 2018, it could meet that number and possibly more.

Payne and Benton and Harrison townships want to remain proactive in this situation and provide prompt response time for their citizens in their time of need.

It is anticipated that Payne EMS will need 6-10 EMTs to cover the day shift hours Monday through Friday. Certified EMTs wanting to apply for the positions should contact 419.263.2514, extension 111 or extension 102, or email emscoordinator@villageofpayne.com.
