It’s been a busy week for Van Wert wrestlers, as the team took to the mats on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Cougars traveled to Kenton for a Western Buckeye League match against the Wildcats, and Van Wert brought back a 36-25 victory on Thursday night.

The Cougars traveled to Napoleon for the regionals of the State Dual Tournament on Wednesday. After receiving a first round bye because Toledo Central Catholic withdrew from the tournament, the Cougars had th to wrestle state-ranked Wauseon. The Indians, a two-time runner up in the State Duals won 78- (-1). Van Wert was deducted 1 team point after the 138 pound. match.
