VW swimmers compete at WBL meet

DEFIANCE — The Cougar swim teams traveled to Defiance for the annual Western Buckeye League Championships involving all 10 member schools. The girls’ team took fifth place, while the boys finished 10th. Lima Shawnee took first place for the boys’ championships, with Celina taking the girls’ first place ranking. Wapakoneta took runner-up for the boys and Ottawa-Glandorf finished as the runner-up in the girls’ events. Other schools participating (in order of finish in the girl’s standings) included Wapakoneta, Lima Shawnee, Van Wert, St. Marys Memorial, Defiance, Lima Bath, Elida and Kenton.
