Charles A. Mosier

Charles A. Mosier, 95, of rural Grover Hill, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2018, at Hearth & Home of Van Wert.

He was born August 26, 1922, in Paulding County near Grover Hill, the son of Alvin J. and Flora (Fast) Mosier, who both preceded him in death. He married Alma F. (McClish) Mosier, who died March 11, 2004.

Survivors include four children, Charles Junior (Betty) Mosier, Carl Wayne (Carolyn) Mosier, and Brenda Sue Nantz, all of Grover Hill, and Shirley Jean (Dave) Dawson of Van Wert; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

A granddaughter, Crystal M. Elston; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle N. Ellis; a great-great-grandson, Justin Stegaman; two brothers, Bice Eugene and Elmer Mosier; three half-brothers, Merlin and Ernest Mosier and Albert Walters; and two half-sisters, Clara Mae Sanderson and Dorthy Slusser, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 5, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Steve Robinson officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Riverview Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Defiance.

Visitation is from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, February 4, at the funeral home.
