Etzler is the Student Athlete of the Week

Crestview High School’s Javin Etzler is this week’s Van Wert independent/ Northwest Ohio Welch Trophy Student Athlete of the Week. The 6-7 junior was nominated by head coach Jeremy Best. “Javin is a young man that is getting the job done in the classroom and on the basketball court,” Best said. “His maturation process as a student-athlete is to be recognized. He is averaging 14 points per game and seven rebounds per game and is playing efficient basketball at both ends of the floor and making his teammates better.” Coaches and athletic directors may nominate student athletes for the weekly award by e-mailing sports@thevwindependent.com.
