Youth group to make valentines for vets

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. will host a Valentines for Veterans event on Monday, February 12, at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5803 on North Shannon Street in Van Wert (across from the YMCA; enter through the Jackson Street door). The event will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The public is invited to join Buckeye Y Youth members as they show their appreciation to veterans for all they have sacrificed for this country. Organization members will make valentines to be handed out to disabled veterans in the area.

The local color guard has also been invited to attend and will lead “The Pledge of Allegiance” for the group.  Refreshments will be served.

Buckeye Y Youth Inc. is a United Way agency, Van Wert County Foundation grant recipient, and received funding from the Walmart Community Fund.
