Hubert W. Truman

Hubert W. Truman, 96, of Delphos, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, surrounded by his family.

He was born December 21, 1921, in Athens, Alabama, the son of Lyman and Leila (Zehner) Truman, who both preceded him in death. On June 26, 1943, he married the former Marjorie Wollet, who died in 2014.

Survivors include four daughters, Sandra (Maurice) Miller of Delphos, Nancy (Jerry) Mericle of Delphos, Pamela (James) Raabe of Bluffton, and Carol (Roy) Cross of Delphos; one son, William (Roseann “Cook”) Truman of Delphos; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.

A great-granddaughter, Lana Salazar; two brothers, Leon and James Truman; and a sister, Clara Lou Courtad, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Harter and Schier Funeral Home in Delphos, with Pastor Rich Rakay and Pastor Lamb officiating. Full military honors will be rendered by the Delphos Veterans Council. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Delphos. 

Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 1, and an hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Trinity United Methodist Church to help pay on the Family Life Center or the Disabled American Veterans.
