Lincolnview Lancers fall to Wayne Trace

PAULDING — When the two teams met in December, Lincolnview posted a 67-49 victory over Wayne Trace, but the Raiders turned the tables and won Friday’s matchup 60-52 to capture the Division IV sectional title at Paulding High School.
Lincolnview’s season came to an end at 16-8, while Wayne Trace improved to 18-5 and will play Hicksville in the district semifinals at Elida High School at 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders and Aces finished as Green Meadows Conference co-champions during the regular season.
It was a tight game from start to finish. Wayne Trace led 18-16 after one quarter and 31-29 at halftime. The Raiders extended their lead to 49-43 after three quarters, but the Lancers rallied in the fourth quarter and led 52-51 with 2:40 left, before Wayne Trace scored the final eight points of the game.
Chayten Overholt finished with 18 points, while Caden Ringwald scored 15 for the Lancers.
Nate Gerber paced Wayne Trace with 19 points.
