Youths sought for Sister City trip to Japan

The Van Wert Sister City Cultural Exchange program is currently seeking 8-10 students between the ages of 13 and 17 during the summer of 2019 to be part of Van Wert’s Sister City delegation to Sumoto City, Japan.

Information and application packets have been provided to Crestview, Lincolnview, and Van Wert high schools, with applications due into Van Wert Mayor Jerry Mazur’s office no later than Friday, May 4. A committee will review applications and possibly hold face-to-face interviews in order to choose delegation candidates by no later than May 30 of this year.

This is a great opportunity for county young people to learn about and experience a foreign culture. Sumoto City will also be sending a cultural exchange delegation to Van Wert this year on July 24-29.
