VW tennis team falls to Wapak

WAPAKONETA — The Redskins edged Van Wert 3-2 in Western Buckeye League tennis action on Monday.

Kannen Wannemacher won at second singles, defeating Jordan Moening 2-6, 7-6, 6-4, and the first doubles team of Michael Hellman and Zane Fast beat David Haver and John Doll 6-3, 6-3.

Wapakoneta’s Jeffery Adkins defeated Michael Etter at first singles, 6-2, 6-3, and Curtis Hughes topped Max Sealscott 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 at third singles. At second doubles, Storm Pierce and Kaden Thomas fell to Austin Hancock and Noah Kirby 5-7, 1-6.

Van Wert (0-2, 0-1 WBL) will play at Celina on Thursday.
