VW tennis team wins again

The Cougars won their second tennis match in as many nights by sweeping singles play to defeat Defiance 3-2 on Thursday.

At first singles, Michael Etter topped Reece Cape 6-1, 6-1, and at second singles Kannen Wannemacher Luciano Garcia 6-2, 6-1. Michael Hellman won at third singles, defeating Jamal Caesar 6-1, 7-5.

Defiance’s Zach Tettenhorst and Drew Klausing won at first doubles 6-0, 6-2 over Kaden Thomas and Nick Carter, and Hunter Perry and Andrew Fredrick defeated Van Wert’s Cody Gamble and Nathan Roger 6-1, 6-4.

Van Wert improved to 2-6 (2-4 WBL).
