Martha J. Chilcote-Roose

Martha J. Chilcote-Roose, 94, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away at 4 a.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at Adams Heritage in Monroeville.

She was born July 23, 1923, in Van Wert, the daughter of Harry K. and Nellie (Hanafeld) Miller, who both preceded her in death. She was married to Warren G. Chilcote and David Roose, who both preceded her in death.

Survivors include four children, Gary (Kristine) Chilcote of California, David Chilcote of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Barbara (Jae Olivo) Sauerwine of Decatur, Indiana, and Linda Chilcote of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A son, Robert Chilcote; and two sisters, Helen Barbara Trippy and Margaret Miller, also preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Mike Wertenberger presiding. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert.

Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
