Keaton Brown’s two-RBI single with two strikes and two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning proved to be the difference in Monday’s 3-2 ACME baseball win over visiting Ottawa-Glandorf.

Trailing 2-1, Brown’s hit to left field plated Lennon Bartley and Ryan Pratt. Parker Conrad ended the game in the top of the seventh by inducing a fly ball, a pickoff play at first and a strikeout.

Conrad pitched the final three innings and allowed just one hit, while striking out five. Bartley pitched the first four innings and allowed two hits, struck out five and walked three.

Brown, Pratt, Jake Lautzenheiser and Hayden Maples accounted for Van Wert’s four hits in the game, as the Cougars improved to 9-3 on the season.

The Lancers and Raiders split Monday’s ACME baseball doubleheader, with Lincolnview shutting out Wayne Trace 8-0 in the first game, and the Raiders edging the Lancers 2-1 in the second game.

Lincolnview is scheduled to host Antwerp on Wednesday.
