Carl Heiser

Carl “Gene” Heiser, 86, of Rockford, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2018, at the Laurels of Shane Hill in Rockford.

He was born June 27, 1932, in Union City, Indiana, the son of Lawrence Grant Heiser and Wanda Lucille (Boise) Heiser, who both preceded him in death. On June 23, 1967, he married the former Evabell “Evie” Heiser, who also preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sons, Michael (Teresa) Heiser and Rodney (Jan) Heiser, both of Rockford; a daughter, Pamela Beahrs of Rockford; one stepson, Timothy (Michele) Staley of Tipp City; a stepdaughter, Theresa (Don) Edwards of Kettering; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ted (Pam) Heiser of New Madison; and a sister-in-law, Sue  Heiser of Celina.

A great-granddaughter, Thalia Christlieb; one brother, Dan Heiser; and a step-daughter, Melinda Clarke, also preceded him in death.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, at the new Shanes Park Community Building in Rockford.
