CELINA — Celina swept Van Wert in Western Buckeye League girls’ bowling action at Plaza Lanes on Tuesday, with the junior varsity winning 1577-1418 and the varsity posting a 2202-2054 victory.

Juniors Lorrie Decker, Hanna Say and Tarra Rhodes led the way for the Cougars with Decker leading all bowlers with a 331 series, including a high game of 191. Say rolled a 302 series, including a 170 game, and Rhodes recorded a 148 game.

“The girls bowled on an unknown, unexpected lane pattern and performed to their best capabilities,” Van Wert head coach Kevin Decker said. “They actually bowled well on this lane pattern even if the scores don’t reflect high scores. We just could not cover spares overall as a team.”

The Cougars will compete in the Lima Spartan Invitational at 20thCentury Lanes at 9 a.m. this Saturday.
