Marvin Lee Agler

Marvin Lee Agler, 73, of rural Rockford, died at 8:27 p.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019, at Mercy Health in Lima.

He was born May 29, 1946, in Van Wert County, the son of Lloyd Elsworth and Ethel Lenore (Miller) Agler, who both preceded him in death. On July 12, 1969, he married Diana S. (Boroff) Agler, who died December 15, 1998. On June 21, 2002, he married Belle A. (Shellaberger) Agler, who survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Nikki (Kent) Stanton of Van Wert; one son, Brent (Jennifer) Agler of Van Wert; three stepchildren, Katie J. Jump of Kenton, John M. (Ramsey) Hutson of Marietta, California, and Jennifer M. (Travis) Sloan of Alger; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Ronald E. Agler of Van Wert; four sisters, Loma Miller of Chinook, Montana, Joyce L. (Raymond) Eller of Rockford, Shirley (Irvin) Crider of Elida, and Kathy Funk of Grand Junction, Colorado; and his mother-in-law, Katie Shellaberger of Rockford.

Two brothers, Ned E. Agler and James Agler; and two sisters, Anna Jeanette McAfee and Carolyn Felver, also preceded him in death.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home in Van Wert, with Pastor Randy Bevington officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Ohio City.  

Visitation is from 2-7 p.m. Monday, December 16, and an hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials: Ohio City Community Church or the National Kidney Foundation.
