Van Wert used a big fourth quarter to rally past Wapakoneta on Thursday, while Lincolnview and Crestview lost Spencerville and Bluffton. Below are brief recaps of each game.

Van Wert 33 Wapakoneta 23

Kyra Welch and Jaylyn Rickard combined for 25 points to lead the Lady Cougars to a 33-23 comeback win over Wapakoneta.

Welch scored 15 points, including six in the fourth quarter, while Rickard scored all 10 of her points in the final period.

Van Wert (2-6, 1-1 WBL) trailed 6-3 after one quarter, 12-11 at halftime and 20-17 after three quarters, before outscoring the visitors 16-3 in the fourth quarter.

The Lady Cougars will host Delphos St. John’s on Monday.

Spencerville 44 Lincolnview 33

SPENCERVILLE — Jordan Decker poured in 18 points, but Lincolnview fell to Spencerville 44-33.

The Lady Lancers enjoyed an 11-9 lead after one quarter, but Spencerville was able to take an 18-17 lead into the locker room at halftime, then the Lady Bearcats outscored Lincolnview 26-17 in the second half.

Brianna Ebel added six points, while Kendall Bollenbacher scored five. Zadria King and Annie Mendenhall each had five rebounds.

As a team, Lincolnview connected on 12 of 13 foul shots.

Lincolnview (0-7, 0-2 NWC) will play at Wayne Trace on Monday.

Bluffton 55 Crestview 49

BLUFFTON — A slow start came back to haunt Crestview in a 55-49 loss to Bluffton.

The Lady Knights (3-5, 1-2 NWC) trailed 13-6 at the end of the first quarter and 21-17 at halftime. Bluffton (6-1, 2-0 NWC) maintained a five point lead after three quarters, 35-30, before outscoring Crestview 20-19 in the final period.

Lexi Gregory led all scorers with 22 points while Kylie Etzler finished with 12, including three treys in the fourth quarter. Laci McCoy and Olivia Cunningham each scored six.

Bluffton was led by Brinkley Garmatter, who finished with 21 points.

Crestview will play at Kalida on Saturday.
