VW wrestlers lose dual match to Wapak

WAPAKONETA — Gabe Steyer, Macein Bigham and Spencer Blue picked up wins, but Van Wert lost Thursday night’s dual match 54-17 to Wapakoneta.

At 145 pounds, Steyer won via a 20-3 technical fall over Corbin Mitchell and Bigham pinned Nate Buell in 90 seconds in the 160 pound weight class. At 195 pounds, Blue won by pin in 5:36.

Wapakoneta’s Bryce Knapke pinned Killian Sudduth (120 pounds) in 3:08, and Jacob Schlesselman (152) pinned Jacob Geething in 2:53.

The Redskins won by forfeit at 106, 126, 132, 138, 170, 182, 220 and 285. There was a double forfeit at 113.

Van Wert will wrestling at the Marion Harding Classic on December 27 and 28.
