Carey wins weekly award

Lincolnview High School senior basketball player Lana Carey is this week’s Van Wert independent/Northwest Ohio Welch Trophy Student Athlete of the Week. Carey was nominated by head coach Kyle Williams. “Lana shows what it means to be a student athlete,” Williams said. “She is very committed to not only basketball, but other sports and is very focused on her academics as well. She puts forth the effort on the court, in the classroom, and in the community. She is a part of various organizations such as CEO, Beta Club and Big Brother/Big Sister.
