Ronald A. Snyder

Ronald A. Snyder, 69, of Van Wert, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020, during brief hospice inpatient care at Lima Memorial Hospital.  

Ron was born February 22, 1950, in Marion, the son of Eldon (Sam) Snyder, who preceded him in death, and Elizabeth (Betty) Snyder who survives in Van Wert. 

Ron was an athlete and a scholar. He graduated Indian Lake High School in Lewistown in 1968 and went on to Bowling Green State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry and math and receiving the Undergraduate Award in analytical chemistry.

Ron was a physical chemistry research doctoral fellow at Purdue University Graduate School, West Lafayette, Indiana. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his mother, Betty, he is survived by two sisters, Carmen (Jim) Houser of Russells Point and Rita of Van Wert.

There will be no viewing or services at this time. A commemorative service will be announced at a later date.
