Crestview, Van Wert and Lincolnview’s girls’ basketball teams were in action on Thursday night, along with the Van Wert wrestling team.

Girls basketball

Crestview 74 Allen East 28

CONVOY — Crestview had no problem with Allen East, as the Lady Knights posted a 74-28 win on Thursday night.

Olivia Cunningham led Crestview with 18 points, while Kylie Etzler and Laci McCoy each finished with 12. Lexi Gregory scored 11 and Bailey Gregory hit double digits with 10 points.

Tori Newland scored 22 of Allen East’s 28 points.

The Lady Knights set the tone early, jumping out to a 19-4 lead after one quarter, then extending it to 37-12 at halftime. Crestview exploded for 26 points in the third quarter and led 63-16 entering the fourth quarter.

Crestview (6-6, 2-2 NWC) will travel to Coldwater on Tuesday.

St. Marys Memorial 43 Van Wert 33

ST. MARYS — Kyra Welch scored 15, but Van Wert fell to St. Marys Memorial 43-33 on Thursday.

The Lady Riders jumped out to a 9-3 lead after one quarter then led 15-11 at halftime. A 16-6 scoring advantage in the third quarter gave the hosts a 31-17 lead, but behind 10 fourth quarter points by Jaylyn Rickard and six by Welch, Van Wert closed the gap before St. Mary’s Memorial used free throws to secure the win.

Carly Caywood and Kendall Dieringer each scored 15 for St. Marys (6-4, 1-3 WBL).

Van Wert (2-9, 1-3 WBL) will host Lincolnview on Saturday.

Columbus Grove 52 Lincolnview 26

Columbus Grove led 11-5 after the first quarter and 25-10 at halftime, before outscoring Lincolnview 18-10 in the third quarter on the way to a 52-26 NWC victory on Thursday.

Angel Schneider led all scorers with 15 points and Kenzie King finished with 13, as the Lady Bulldogs were 22 of 42 (52 percent) from the floor. In addition, Columbus Grove had a 19-10 rebounding advantage.

Brianna Ebel led Lincolnview with seven points, Zadria King had six and Lana Carey had five. The Lady Lancers were 11 of 22 from the floor but had 19 turnovers in the loss.

Lincolnview (0-11, 0-3 NWC) will play at Van Wert on Saturday.

Wrestling

St. Marys Memorial 54 Van Wert 22

Macein Bigham and Cody Gamble each won via a pin and Eli Kline posted a victory, but St. Marys Memorial topped Van Wert 54-22 in Western Buckeye League dual action on Thursday.

Bigham (152) won in 97 seconds over Keegan Sharpe, Gamble (220) won in 4:20 over Brice Saeler and Kline (285) won 13-3 over Braeden Saeler.
Gabe Steyer (145) won by forfeit.

At 160 pounds, Jacob Geething was pinned in 59 seconds by Tommy Mabry and at 195 pounds, Spencer Blue was pinned by Austen McChesney in 3:19. At 120 pounds, Killian Sudduth was pinned by Tyler Hisey in 56 seconds. In addition, the Roughriders picked up forfeit wins at 106, 126, 132, 138, 170, 182, while 113 was a double forfeit.

The Cougars will wrestle at New Haven (IN) on Saturday.
