Randy Lee Allen

Randy Lee Allen, 65, of Athens, Alabama, passed away at 4:24 p.m. Friday, January 17, 2020, at Crestwood Medical Center in Athens with his loving wife and children by his side.

He was born September 27, 1954, in Van Wert, the son of Morrell G. Allen and Donnalee Jane (Parsons) Goodwin. On October 17, 2018, he married the love of his life, the former Elizabeth Neri. 

A 1972 graduate of Van Wert High School, Randy went on to earn his degree in business administration from Northwestern University. He recently retired from Triangle Fastener Corporation.

Having spent his career in metal building construction, Randy was a member of the Metal Construction Association, the Metal Building Manufacturers Association and served on numerous metal construction building committees. 

Randy loved to play golf and fish, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones. 

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Allen of Athens, Alabama; a son, Jason M. (Brittany) Allen of Rossford and daughter Arianna; one daughter, Jennifer M. Allen of Rossford; a son, Christopher Allen of Gallatin, Tennessee; his mother, Donnalee (Gene) Goodwin; one brother, Rick Allen; and a sister, Nancy (Kurt) Muntzinger, all of Van Wert; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Morrell G. “Chum” Allen, and his grandmother, Susie Courtney. 

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, January 25, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert, with the Rev. Will Haggis officiating. 

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Friday, January 24,, and an hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
