Humane Society sees ‘Christmas miracles’

VW independent/submitted information

December 2019 was the month of “Christmas miracles” at the Van Wert County Humane Society, where 21 cats and kittens were adopted during the month, setting a new record for feline adoptions in one month. The shelter had experienced an influx of cats during the final months of the year. In addition to 21 cats, eight dogs were adopted and 17 animals were reunited with their owners.

“To have 46 animals back home with their owners, or finding new homes where they are safe and loved, during one month is a tremendous new milestone for the shelter,” stated Deb Sealscott, board president. “We are so grateful to our adopters and those who support our efforts.”

The Van Wert County Humane Society is a shelter/adoption center that seeks to reunite lost animals with their owners, and provides a safe haven for stray, homeless, neglected, and abused companion animals in the community.
