Club sells, gives away excess equipment

On Monday, January 20, workers at the Goodwill, hospital, and Salvation Army thrift stores all said they would accept a donation of cameras from the Van Wert Area Photography Club.

On Tuesday morning, the cameras were first sorted so that no store received duplicate units. Next the cameras were checked to assure all stores received some older models as well as later models, and finally, 40 cameras were placed in 3 boxes and padded with newspaper for delivery. That afternoon, each store received their requested number of cameras.

On Wednesday, a call was made to Larry Herndon of Waynesfield, who had purchased 10 cameras in November and 10 more in December. Larry asked that he be called back on Thursday with a list of what was left. After hearing the list, he said he’d be here on Friday, around 2 p.m.

As it turned out, he came to do business. It seemed that the more he packed, the more he selected, and by the time he was done, he had purchased everything in the cabinet that was for sale!

Only the laptop and projection screen remain. They very well could be the subjects of the next progress report.
