Wren signups

WREN — Sign ups for the Wren Ballpark 2020 summer season will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, February 23, at the Eagles Nest Community Building in Wren.

Wren offers co-ed T-ball and coach pitch for younger players, along with Farm Team and Little League for youth players. There will be sign ups for Farmettes and Buckeye Girls youth softball as well.

Fees for T-ball and coach pitch are $25 for the season, while the other programs are $35 for the season.

OHSAA Umpire training

The Midwest Buckeye Umpires’ Association will host a training course for prospective baseball umpires interested in earning OHSAA certification for the upcoming 2020 season.

Anyone ages 14 and older is eligible to enroll in the class. The cost of the course is $135, which includes all instructional materials, OHSAA membership fees, rule books, and annual MBUA membership.

Classes will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6-9 p.m. at Van Wert High School on February 18, 19, 25, 26, March 3, 4, 10, 11.

Course registration and payment can be completed online by visiting www.myohsaa.org and clicking on the “REGISTER” link at the top of the page. Once you have created a free account, click on “Select a Course” and search for “Baseball – Van Wert.”
