16 arraigned on indictments in CP Court

A total of 16 people were arraigned in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court this week, according to a court report released on Wednesday.

Those arraigned include the following:

Tate Arnold, 38, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, both felonies of the second degree, and one count each of aggravated possession of drugs (F-3), trafficking in drugs (F-4), and trafficking in a Fentanyl-related compound (F-4). He was released on an unsecured personal surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 4.

Jason Monroe, 46, of Delphos, entered not guilty pleas to two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs (both F-3s), one count of aggravated possession of drugs (F-3), two counts of aggravated possession of drugs (both F-5s), and possession of criminal tools (F-5). He was ordered held on a $10,000 cash bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Friday, March 6.

Austin Schwaner, 20, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, each a felony of the fourth degree. He was ordered held on a $25,000 cash bond, with the additional stipulation he have no contact with the alleged victim in the case. A pretrial conference was scheduled for 8 a.m. March 4.

Kyle May, 36, of Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to one count of domestic violence (F-3). He was ordered held on a $25,000 cash bond, and must have no contact with the alleged victim in the case. A pretrial conference was set for 8 a.m. March 4.

Adam Grogg, 29, of Convoy, pleaded not guilty to one count of domestic violence (F-4). He was released on a surety bond, but must not be at the marital residence and must have no contact with the alleged victim. He will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 4.

Lacy Sheets, 38, of Delphos, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of aggravated possession of drugs (F-3), aggravated possession of drugs (F-5), and possession of criminal tools (F-5). She was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 6.

Adam Purdy, 42, of Delphos, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs (F-5). He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 6.

Brooke Scheumann, 20, of Decatur, Indiana, entered a not guilty plea to one count of counterfeiting (F-4). A surety bond was set in the case and she will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 6.

Jordan Vickery, 36, of Middle Point, pleaded not guilty to one count each of theft, receiving stolen property, and forgery (all F-5s). A surety bond was set and he will appear for a pretrial conference at 10:30 a.m. March 4.

Jason Zamora, 42, of Payne, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of illegal conveyance into a government facility (F-3), and aggravated possession of drugs (F-5). A surety bond was set and he will appear for a pretrial conference at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 19.

Landin Burch, 19, of Convoy, pleaded not guilty to two counts of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle (both F-4s). He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 11.

Adam Stripe, 42, of Van Wert, entered not guilty pleas to two counts of complicity and one count of theft (all F-5s). A surety bond was set and Stripe will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 25.

Sonny Metzger, 45, of Van Wert, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs (F-5). He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 6.

David Bashore, 47, of Van Wert, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and aggravated possession of drugs (both F-5s). He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 6.

Gary Caywood, 54, of Scott, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs (F-3). He was released on a surety bond and will appear for a pretrial conference at 8 a.m. March 4.

Amber Worl, 41, of Delphos, entered not guilty pleas to one count each of aggravated possession of drugs and aggravated trafficking in drugs (both F-3s), and one count of possession of criminal tools (F-5). A $10,000 cash bond was set in the case and she will appear for a pretrial conference at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 3.

Two people were sentenced this week in Common Pleas Court.

Dawne Taylor, 55, of Van Wert, was sentenced to 12 months in prison, with no credit for time served, on one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs (F-3). 

Danny Felger Jr., 56, of Ohio City, was given two years of community control on a charge of attempted retaliation, a felony of the fourth degree. As part of his community control, Felger must serve a 90-day jail sentence (credit for 33 days already served), undergo random drug screens, have no drugs or alcohol without a prescription, was fined $500, must have to contact with Van Wert Municipal Court Judge Jill Straley, and cannot leave the state without permission from the probation department.

Joshua Wolf, 43, of Willshire, requested a continuance of his trial, which was set for March 9. The request was granted and a pretrial conference scheduled for 1 p.m. March 3.

Four people appeared for hearings on a variety of violations.

Alexandria Fletter, 21, of Van Wert, admitted to violating her treatment programs by testing positive for drugs. A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing scheduled for 9 a.m. March 25.

Brittney Williams, 29, of Lima, admitted to violating her probation by using or possessing alcohol (OVI arrest). She was then sentenced to five years of community control, with 14 days in jail (14 days credit), 200 hours of community control, no alcohol or drugs, random screens, and substance abuse and mental health assessments and any treatment recommended.

Kayla Lee, 32, of Van Wert, admitted to violating her treatment in lieu of conviction program by not paying court costs and not finishing the case. Judge Martin D. Burchfield extended the program for six months to allow her to complete all requirements.

Gabriel Palacios, 24, of Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by not reporting to probation for more than four years. A surety bond was set in the case and he will appear for a pretrial conference at 10 a.m. March 25.

Christina Donate-McClure, 30, of Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to one count each of complicity (F-3) and permitting drug abuse (F-5). A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing will be held at 9 a.m. March 25.

Kyle Goodwin, 31, of Van Wert, appeared for a judicial release hearing and was granted early release from his prison sentence. He was placed on three years of community, must have no alcohol or illegal drugs, must undergo random testing and substance abuse and mental health assessments, and any treatment recommended, and must seek work. He will be held in jail until the assessments are completed.
