Lincolnview’s most dominating performance of the year resulted in a 63-25 non-conference over visiting Ridgemont on Tuesday night.

Along with a season high 63 points, the Lady Lancers converted six three pointers, forced 25 turnovers and pulled down 40 rebounds, including 18 on the offensive end.

“Rebounding has been something that has hurt us the last few games especially at Crestview and Fort Jennings and I tried to make that an emphasis in the practices leading up to this game and also prior to the game as well,” Lincolnview head coach Kyle Willliams said. “We definitely attacked the boards hard and I loved our effort both on the defensive and offensive boards.”

“I’m most pleased with the way our girls competed on the defensive end,” the coach added. “We did what we needed to do to get a stop and then finish the play off with a rebound. Also, being confident and hitting shots was definitely a plus tonight.”

Lincolnview led 15-9 after one quarter, but opened the second period with a 15-1 run, including triples by Brianna Ebel, Makayla Jackson and two by Annie Mendenhall and by halftime, the Lady Lancers enjoyed a 37-13 advantage.

“I always say before every game that we have to be the aggressors from the start and we definitely were tonight,” Williams said of the first half. “We moved the ball really well and got a lot of open looks and knocked down a lot of shots early. Kudos to the girls for working hard and doing what is asked of them.”

Lana Carey scored eight of Lincolnview’s eight third quarter points, with six of those coming on treys and the Lady Lancers led 49-21. Mckayla Blackemeyer scored all six of her points in the fourth quarter.

Ebel and Carey each scored 11 points and Ebel dished out a team high seven assists. Jackson scored eight points, Mendenhall and Kendall Bollenbacher finished with seven each and Jordan Decker pulled down a game high 10 rebounds. Mendenhall also finished with seven rebounds.

Lincolnview (3-18, 1-6 NWC) will finish the regular season at home on Thursday against Ada. The varsity game will tip off at 6 p.m.

“I know that we haven’t had the season that we were expecting to have, but we can make a huge push after tonight and Thursday going into tournament,” Williams said. “I want my girls to understand that they need to have a winners mentality and go into any game thinking we can beat anybody because we can.”

“In my opinion this season has went by fast and there were a lot of learning moments but I’m excited for this last game and our second season which is tournament.”
