Opera house donation…

Shown above is Van Wert County Foundation Executive Secretary Seth Baker presenting a $2,300 check to Fran Neiswander, a member of the Convoy Historical Society, and Ray Hertz, Historical Society treasurer. The money, from the Gertrude E. and Clarence L. Friedly Memorial Fund, will be used to help make the Opera House handicap accessible. The first show in the Opera House, “A Night of Magic”,starring magician-comedian Rick Reader and magician James Mitchell from Fort Wayne, Indiana, will be presented Saturday, February 22, at 7 p.m.  Doors open at 6:30 that evening. Tickets are $10 for the general public and $8 for Convoy Historical Society members. Call 419.749.1144 or 260-639-2083 for tickets, Handicap accessibility will not be available for this first show. The lift is currently under construction and is not scheduled to be installed until the end of March. photo provided
