Wassenberg offers prints

Want a super easy way to collect original art of your surrounding community? Each year the Wassenberg Art Center creates one-of-a-kind, hand-pulled prints of our grounds and Van Wert. Each print is given to anyone who purchases a $45 family membership to the Wassenberg Art Center!

Bandit, the Thieving Raccoon (who graces the Teen Creek footbridge) will be the subject of our original, individually tinted, signed, and numbered print series for the Wassenberg Art Center.

Our second piece in the series is created by Matt Temple, WAC office manager, and features a drawing of Bandit, the Thieving Raccoon sculpture, which sits on the Town Creek footbridge. This type of art is carved onto a linoleum block, then individually printed, tinted, numbered, and signed by Matt. This is a great way to support your community and get real art for a great price.

You can join the art center to get your free Bandit, online at www.wassenbergartcenter.org, by email at info@wassenbergartcenter.org, or by calling 419.238.6837.

The second installment of Watercolor Winter will be on view through March 8. The American Watercolor Society traveling exhibit features works created by artists from all over the United States and the world including, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Spain. Most of the paintings are for sale and can make an excellent investment.

The time is now to sign up for the next round of wassenBoxes. Our in-house designed craft kit for young people arrives in your mailbox monthly, with complete supplies to make a unique craft. This is an economical and convenient way to supplement crucial art involvement for your child’s education.  Broad exposure to the arts can enhance academic performance, increase graduation rates and even improve SAT scores. The kit contains supplies, a welcome sticker poster and a specially designed activity/instruction book. Crafts for two separate age groups are available, ages 3-7 and 7 and up. Kits are gender neutral. Each box $22 and automatically renews until you cancel. Sign up here: www.wassenbergartcenter.org. or call 419.238.6837 for alternative ways to participate.

If your young artist prefers hands on, students can sign up for our ArtReach after school art program any month and stop if schedules become hectic then sign up again when convenient! With cooped up winter coming on, art can be a great outlet! This art program also provides much needed support in the arts which assist a myriad of academics, like improved math and critical thinking skills. Our instructor Gabriel Yahl is a, professional artist and art educator with 10-plus years of art experience. Please contact the art center to sign up, scholarships available.
