Young Artists Showcase coming in March

The Van Wert County Foundation will present the county’s most talented music students in its 17th annual Young Artists Showcase. 

Student musicians from Van Wert, Lincolnview, and Crestview high schools will perform in this prestigious event based on their performances and ratings at the recent OMEA Solo & Ensemble contest. First United Methodist Church in Van Wert will host the event, which begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 8. The performance is free and the public is encouraged to attend.

The showcase consists of solo vocal, instrumental, and piano performances, as well as instrumental and vocal ensembles. Since 2003, students that have performed in this recital have gone on to become professional musicians, music teachers, and other accomplished careers in professional fields.

Doors open to the public at 2 p.m. March 8. First United Methodist is located at 113 W. Central Ave. in Van Wert. Use the Central Avenue or Jefferson Street entrances to the church.
