American Watercolor Society exhibit ends

The American Watercolor Society traveling exhibit will be on the next leg of its journey and travel to Maryland. Check it out before it disappears. Check out astonishing works created by artists from the world including, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Spain. Most of the paintings are for sale and can make an excellent investment.

Pop of Color, the works of artist Mary Hopson, will open March 20-April 5.

On March 20 we will open the exhibit Pop of Color with Mary Hopson of Fennville. This is the debut for this artist and will feature approximately 25 paintings that will leap off the walls.

The wassenBoxes keep marching out the door! We will be shipping for March soon. Hmm … what could March’s box hold?

Each box is delivered monthly, is designed and created by the Wassenberg staff, so each box is unique. This is an economical and convenient way to supplement art programming which has been on the decline in schools for some time. This is important because broad exposure to the arts can enhance academic performance, increase graduation rates and even improve SAT scores.

The kit arrives in the mail complete with supplies, a welcome sticker poster and a specially designed activity/instruction book. Crafts for two separate age groups are available, ages 3-7 and 7 and up. Kits are gender neutral. Sign up anytime at $22 per month. wassenBox automatically renews until you cancel. Sign up at www.wassenbergartcenter.org. or call 419.238.6837 for alternative ways to participate.

If your young artist prefers hands on, students can sign up for our ArtReach after school art program any month and stop if schedules become hectic then sign up again when convenient! With cooped up winter coming on, art can be a great outlet! This art program also provides much needed support in the arts which assist a myriad of academics, like improved math and critical thinking skills. Our instructor Gabriel Yahl is a, professional artist and art educator with 10-plus years of art experience. Please contact the art center to sign up, scholarships available.

Acrylic painting with instructor Mike Huffman will begin March 3. Openings are still available.
