Cross Over the Hill receives new name
VW independent/submitted information
New signs are going up at Cross Over the Hill (COTH) to reflect the new name of the program, LifeWise Academy.
For eight years, COTH has provided Van Wert City School students with practical Bible-based instruction. In 2018, the COTH Board of Directors teamed up with Stand for Truth, a ministry to public school students led by Van Wert native Joel Penton, to create a broader movement of gospel-centered, character-focused Bible education programs called LifeWise Academy. Now, COTH is excited to take the step to publicly rename as LifeWise Academy Van Wert and serve as the LifeWise national flagship program.
In addition to the installation of a new sign at the middle school facility, plaques have been added to each LifeWise Van Wert building to honor Cross Over the Hill’s legacy and name. While the name is changing, the local Board of Directors, teachers, and volunteers will continue in their commitment to faithfully teach the Bible to the students of Van Wert. LifeWise Van Wert will continue to seek to create real and lasting change for the students, schools and local community.
The Board of Directors and staff of LifeWise Van Wert are grateful to the many community members who have generously given of their funds and time in order to make Bible education a reality for Van Wert’s elementary, middle, and high school students.
