Mildred L. (Snyder) Buechner

Mildred L. (Snyder) Buechner, 93, of Van Wert, passed away at 2:35 a.m. Monday, March 9, 2020, at Hearth and Home in Van Wert.

She was born January 22, 1927, in Van Wert County, the daughter of Chester Snyder and Grace (Stemen) Snyder, who both preceded her in death. On May 3, 1959, she married Russell Buechner, who passed away in 1999. Together, they shared 40 years of memories.

Mildred was a graduate of Hoaglin-Jackson High School in Van Wert County, and retired as a bookkeeping supervisor with Van Wert National Bank after 15 years of service.

Mildred was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert, where she served as treasurer of the Ladies Guild for over 20 years. 

Surviving are her daughters, Beth (Randy) McNeal of Van Wert and Kathy (Rick) Scheid of Bloomington, Indiana; three grandchildren, Ben McNeal of Van Wert and Ellen Scheid and Jane Scheid of Bloomington; and two sisters, Ruth Girod and Janice Adams, both of Van Wert.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dale Snyder.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Van Wert, with Rev. Kurt Klingbeil officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Cemetery in rural Van Wert County.

Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Thursday, March 12, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert.
