Nina B. (Tackett) Ragan

Nina B. (Tackett) Ragan, 95, of Van Wert, passed away at 3:55 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Van Wert.

She was born June 23, 1924, in Dekalb, Texas, the daughter of Thomas R. Tackett and Forra (Hill) Tackett, who both preceded her in death. She married Carl W. Ragan, who passed away January 22, 2009. 

Nina worked as a general accountant with the Aeroquip Corporation in Van Wert.  She retired in 1985 after 32 years of service.

Nina was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Van Wert and Van Wert Health’s Twig I organization. 

Nina enjoyed playing and watching golf and was an avid bridge player.

Surviving are two children, Stephen W. Ragan of Van Wert and Mary L. (Hugh) Thomas of Hamilton; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Dolores Vanderslice of Longview, Texas.

Nina was also preceded in death by a brother, one sister, three half-brothers, and three half-sisters.

Because of national health concerns, Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Wert and the Ragan family are following directives outlined by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine limiting attendance to the visitation and funeral service to immediate family only. Please reach out to funeral home and staff there will share your sympathies with Nina’s family. 

Burial will take place in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert, with the Rev. Hal Shafer officiating.
