Council to hold public meeting tonight

Van Wert City Council will be holding its meeting in person, according to a statement Sunday by Council President Jon Tomlinson.

“After discussion with the mayor, the plan is to hold tomorrow’s Council meeting as scheduled. We will consider tomorrow’s meeting under the Governor’s “Essential Government Functions” (exception).” 

The meeting is also open to members of the public, but Tomlinson has not said what he will do if the meeting exceeds the 10-person limit set by the governor for public gatherings.

In addition, two Council members, Bill Marshall and Andrew Davis, have asked to be excused from attending the meeting because of COVID-19 concerns.
