County DJFS provides PRC application info

VW independent/submitted information

The Van Wert County Department of Job and Family Services will be accepting PRC applications from county families whose employment has been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, now through Thursday, April 30, or as funding is available. Call 419.238.5430 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-noon, to request an application packet.

Packets can be returned by mail or dropped off at the agency drop-off window on the first floor of the County Annex building, 114 E. Main St. in Van Wert. One application to be completed per family.

Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $500 towards their housing OR a utility bill. Eligibility for this program will not count toward the family’s eligibility for other PRC assistance programs.

The program is limited to 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level, and must serve persons in a TANF-eligible family.

Family is defined in federal and state law and regulations as follows: a minor child who resides with a parent, specified relative, legal guardian, or legal custodian (a child may be temporarily absent from the home, provided certain requirements are met); a pregnant woman with no other children; or non-custodial parents who live in the state, but do not reside with their minor child(ren).
