ODOT seeks comment on area projects

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 1, in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Executive Order 11988, is seeking public comments regarding the following proposed projects:

Van Wert County
Ohio 116 culvert repair (PID: 105189) — ODOT is proposing to replace two culverts on Ohio 116. The first culvert carries Cole Ditch (a tributary to Jennings Creek) under the roadway at mile marker 2.16, approximately 3.5 miles west of the village of Spencerville. The second culvert carries Morris Ditch (a tributary to the Little Auglaize) under the roadway at mile marker 11.59, approximately 2 miles north of the village of Venedocia. Construction activities will result in temporary roadway closures. Vehicular traffic will be detoured. Access to all properties will be maintained throughout construction.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2022.

Paulding County
Ohio 66/First Street sidewalks (PID: 109019) — ODOT, in partnership with the village of Oakwood, is proposing to remove and replace the existing sidewalk along Ohio 66/First Street from North Street to Celina Street in the village of Oakwood. Additionally, street lighting upgrades will be made and street furniture (benches and trash receptacles) will be installed.  

Construction is anticipated to occur in the summer of 2022.

Work along this route will occur in a regulated floodplain. Impacts to these floodplains are anticipated to be minor and result in no rise in localized flood levels. A statement of findings detailing the results of the final floodplain analysis will be made available on the ODOT District 1 environmental website: http://www.dot.state.oh.us/districts/D01/PlanningPrograms/Pages/environmental.aspx

Ohio 49 pavement repairs (PID: 107660) — ODOT is proposing to repair the roadway shoulders on Ohio 49 from the Van Wert county line to the village of Payne. Construction activities will result in temporary roadway closures. Vehicular through traffic will be detoured temporarily. Access for local traffic to all properties will be maintained throughout construction.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2021.

Ohio 613 culvert replacement (PID: 111206) — ODOT is proposing to replace the culvert carrying O. Fish Ditch (a tributary to Blue Creek) under state Route 613 at mile marker 16.68 between the villages of Broughton and Melrose. Construction activities will result in temporary roadway closures. Vehicular traffic will be detoured. Access to all properties will be maintained throughout construction.

Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2021.

Work at this structure will occur in a regulated floodplain. Impacts to this floodplain are anticipated to be minor and the carrying capacity of Blue Creek will be maintained.
