VWDJFS accepting PRC fund applications

VW independent/submitted information

The Van Wert County Department of Job and Family Services will be accepting PRC (Prevention, Retention, and Contingency) fund applications as funding is available from county families with minor children whose employment has directly been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Call 419.238.5430 from 8 a.m.-noon Monday through Friday to request an application packet. The packet can be returned by mail or be dropped off at the agency drop-off window on the first floor of the County Annex building, 114 E. Main St. in Van Wert. One application needs to be completed per family. Eligible families will receive a one-time payment of $500 towards their housing or a utility bill.

Eligibility for this program will not count toward the family’s eligibility for other PRC assistance programs.

The program is limited to 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. The program must serve persons in a TANF-eligible family.

Family is defined in federal and state law and regulations as follows: a minor child who resides with a parent, specified relative, legal guardian or legal custodian (a child may be temporarily absent from the home provided certain requirements are met); a pregnant individual with no other children; or a non-custodial parent who lives in the state, but does not reside with his/her minor child(ren).
