CERT operates call center; seeks donations

VW independent/submitted information

CERT is also still operating a call center at the County Emergency Management Agency office.

Anyone living in Van Wert County that is quarantined, concerned about leaving their home, or elderly persons that should not be out during the COVID-19 event can call 419.623.1095 or 419.623.4177 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday to request assistance. CERT operators will speak to callers about their needs and coordinate with CERT delivery drivers on how to get necessary items to callers.

CERT also provides traffic control for United Way and Van Wert County schools for their food distributions.

Anyone wanting to donate to CERT to help with its response to COVID-19 can send checks to the Van Wert County Foundation at the above address and enter “COVID” in the memo line.

For more information, call the EMA office at 419.238.1300. CERT is a United Way agency.
