City provides brush pick-up information

The City of Van Wert will begin the brush pickup program for 2020 on Monday, May 4. City residents should have their brush out by 7 a.m. on the following days: 

• Monday, May 4
• Monday, June 29
• Monday, August 31

Safety-Service Director Jay Fleming provides the following information for the brush pick-up:

• City residents should place brush next to curb and not place it near poles, trees, etc. 
• The Citywill not pick up limbs larger than 4 inches in diameter or more than 10 feet long.
• The City will not pick up brush that has been left behind by professional tree trimmers or private contractors (homeowners are responsible for removing).
• Brush placed in bags or boxes will not be picked up.
• The City will not pick up leaves during brush pick-up.
