Knights, Lancers compete at T-bird Invite

LIMA — Crestview finished 21st and Lincolnview 25th at the 29-team LCC Thunderbird Wrestling Invitational, held Friday and Satuday at Lima Central Catholic High School.

Covington was crowned as the team champion, while Allen East finished as the runner up.

Crestview’s highest placers were Gavin Chubb at 106 pounds (fourth), Levi Grace at 126 pounds (eighth) and Trevon Barton at 220 pounds (eighth). Chubb was pinned by Blanchester’s Hunter Smith (3:16) in the third place match, while Grace lost by default in the seventh place match. Barton lost 8-3 to Convington’s Hayden Barker in the seventh place match.

Lincolnview’s highest finishers were Dylan Bowyer (160 pounds) and Louis Ulery (285). Both claimed eighth place by injury default.

During Friday’s opening round, Ulery set a school record for fastest pin, :08 over Greg Horton of The old record was :09 set by now-head coach Stephen Pardon 30 years ago.

Last week, Lincolnview defeated Cory-Rawson 48-12 and McComb 30-23.
